🗺️ Detailed Itinerary (Day by Day)
Day 1: From the Inca Capital Cusco to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes)
Altitude: 2,040 m / 6,692 ft.

As your premier and safe travel agency in Peru, your journey begins seamlessly with a pick-up from your Cusco hotel (the exact time will be provided during your briefing the day before). You will travel in our comfortable, private transport to the train station. Depending on your tailor-made journey, the drive will be to Poroy (approx. 45 mins) or Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley (approx. 2 hours).

Next, you will board a scenic train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes). This breathtaking train ride takes about 3.5 hours from Poroy, or 1.5 hours from Ollantaytambo. (Expert note: Train schedules are managed strictly by PeruRail or IncaRail. In the rare event of an operational delay, we appreciate your patience; our team will monitor the situation closely to guarantee your peace of mind).

Upon arrival, your private guide will be waiting at the station to escort you to your chosen hotel. You will have the afternoon free to relax or explore the picturesque town. Later, your guide will brief you on the next day’s schedule and will gladly offer personalized restaurant recommendations or help you with dinner reservations (meals are not included, except hotel breakfast).

Day 2: Private Exploration of the Wonder of the World
Machu Picchu Altitude: 2,430 m / 7,972 ft.

The big day is here! Today, you conquer one of the New 7 Wonders of the Modern World on your private Machu Picchu tour. Your guide will meet you at your hotel.

We will head to the Consettur eco-bus station. To beat the crowds, we will leave early (expect a wait time of about 45 minutes in line). The zigzagging bus ride up the mountain takes 25 minutes. Pro Tip: We highly suggest using the restrooms at the entrance before going in (cost approx. 2 Soles), as there are no facilities inside the archaeological site.

You will enter by presenting your official ticket and the exact original passport used for the booking. Once inside, you will enjoy a deeply informative and transformational travel experience with our local expert. The exploration time and route depend on the government regulations tied to your specific ticket:

Circuit 1 (Approx. 1 hour):* Focuses on the upper viewpoint for the classic panoramic photo and a direct return.
Circuit 2 (Approx. 2 to 3 hours):* The most comprehensive route, including the classic viewpoints and a deep exploration of the main temples and urban sector.
Circuit 3 (Approx. 1.5 hours):* Focuses on the lower section, exploring the Temple of the Sun, the Inca House, and agricultural terraces.

After the tour, we will take the bus back down to the town (25 mins) where you will have time for a well-deserved lunch. Finally, your guide will escort you to the station for your return train. Upon your arrival at Poroy or Ollantaytambo, our private driver will be waiting to transfer you directly back to your hotel in Cusco.

🎒 What to Bring & What to Wear (Expert Packing List)

What to pack in your daypack:
• Original Passport: Strictly mandatory! Must be the exact passport used for booking.
• Small daypack (max 20 liters allowed inside the sanctuary).
• Personal medications (if you are on any treatment, carry them with you).
• Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a sun hat.
• Mosquito repellent (Machu Picchu is located in the high jungle/cloud forest region).
• Extra cash (Soles): Useful for buying water, using the entrance restrooms, or purchasing a plastic rain poncho along the way if needed. (Note: Formal restaurants and large souvenir shops in town do accept credit cards).

What to pack for the overnight stay:
• Since you will spend the night in Aguas Calientes, prepare a small carry-on or overnight bag with an extra change of clothes for the next day and your personal toiletries.
How to dress for the tour:
• Light and comfortable clothing: Wear trekking pants or athletic leggings.
• Sun protection: A breathable long-sleeved shirt to protect your skin.
• Proper footwear: Comfortable hiking shoes or sturdy sneakers. The visit involves a moderate hike over uneven stone paths.
• Layering system: Bring a light fleece jacket for the chilly morning and a rain jacket or windbreaker, as Andean weather is highly unpredictable.

🧳 Important Train Luggage Policy
For the journey to Machu Picchu, the railway companies strictly allow only a small backpack or hand luggage (max 5 kg / 11 lbs) onboard.
Our expert recommendation: Check out of your Cusco hotel before starting the tour and leave your large suitcases in their luggage storage room. This service is completely free and secure at all hotels until you return.
• If you absolutely must bring large suitcases on the train due to an emergency, please be aware that the railway companies (PeruRail / IncaRail) will charge a significant extra fee at boarding, according to their own policies.

🚨 Booking Anticipation
Traveler Notice: Entrance tickets to the Machu Picchu citadel are subject to strict daily government limits and sell out very quickly. To guarantee your spot, secure the best train schedules, and ensure a seamless experience, we highly recommend confirming your booking and submitting your deposit several months in advance.
